Since the start of the summer of 2022, Brite has been running a new one-year demonstration project at the World Horti Centre in Naaldwijk, the Netherlands. The trial is exploring the cultivation of ornamental plant species, popular with Dutch commercial greenhouse growers, under semi-transparent PV modules installed on the roof of the greenhouse. Several crops will be examined under a rotation plan which kicked off with the cultivation of chrysanthemums. The trial is conducted in cooperation with Vertify, one of the major Dutch agricultural research centres, utilising their expertise in crop cultivation in high-tech glass greenhouse environments, in order to ensure the highest possible reliability of the generated agronomic results.
